Responding to Queen Street’s dominant typology of long and narrow retail spaces, this multi-tenant store reimagines the customer journey as Alice’s descent into Wonderland. The juice bar upfront is defined by mint tones and Douglas Fir millwork, a series of multi-scaled forms that unfold as a winding path to the rear garden shop. Through a redesigned exit, visitors drop into a lush tropical garden, an outdoor sanctuary of rotating seasonal plants that feels as though one has stepped through a portal to another place.
